This course consists of slides viewed at the participant's pace. Successful completion of the course requires a passing grade on the imbedded quiz at the end of the presentation.
This course will define what a bloodborne pathogen [BBP] is, identify common forms of BBPs and their transmission potential, identify universal precautions used to prevent transmission, clarify the use of biohazard containers and expectations if exposed to BBPs.

- To identify the 3 most common BBPs that pose the most threat to healthcare workers in the US.
- To identify how exposure to BBPs occurs.
- To identify things you can do to prevent the transmission of BBPs.
- To recognize the biohazard symbol and know what to do with biohazard waste.
