Course Abstract
This course has been approved for 1.0 continuing education clock hours by TSHA. TSHA approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products or clinical procedures.
This course consists of slides viewed at the participant's pace. Successful completion of the course requires a passing grade on the imbedded quiz at the end of the presentation.
This course will educate participants on why, how to use, how to demonstrate and how to teach basic functional sign language for use in therapy sessions.
Course Learning Objectives
- Each participant will have the ability to demonstrate and teach up to 5 functional signs
- Each participant will recognize the scenarios where the utilization of sign language may enhance communication
- Each participant will name at least two strategies when teaching children to sign
