Course Abstract

This course has been submitted to HHS for approval of 1.0 continuing education clock hour. HHS approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products or clinical procedures.
This course consists of slides viewed at the participant?s pace. Successful completion of the course requires a passing grade on the imbedded quiz at the end of the presentation.
This course will define human trafficking and discuss the unique role that home health providers have in assessing and identifying the presence of it in the life of their patients. It will provide things to look for commonly found where human trafficking is occurring and emphasize the value in "looking again".

Course Learning Objectives

  • Describe 2 types of Human Trafficking and the negative impact they have on the participants/community
  • Describe at least 3 behaviors of victims in a household to watch for that might suggest human trafficking is occurring
  • Identify when it is appropriate to get help to assess an environment for signs of human trafficking. Know when/where it is required to report suspected human trafficking
