This course consists of slides viewed at the participant's pace. Successful completion of the course requires a passing grade on the imbedded quiz at the end of the presentation.
This course discusses different types of behavior challenges and distractions commonly faced by home health speech therapists as well as how to use evidence-based practice to effectively respond to these behaviors/distractions. Additionally, how to properly document these behaviors and distractions in a way that complies with HHS standards is also addressed.

Course Learning Objectives

  • Identify 3 common challenging behaviors and distractions faced in the home environment
  • Know at least 2 responds to each of these behaviors and distractions through the use of evidence- based practice
  • Know acceptable documentation of these behaviors and distractions in notes
