Course Abstract

TSHA has approved individual courses for 1 continuing education clock hour. TSHA approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products or clinical procedures.
These courses consist of slides viewed at the participant?s pace. Successful completion of the course requires a passing grade on the imbedded quiz at the end of the presentation.
This course reviews the 4 most commonly used standards in normal language development:

The Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale.
Receptive-Expressive Emergent Language Test.
Mean Length of Utterance by Age, Miller, 1981.
Intelligibility Ratings (general textbook).

Course Learning Objectives

  • 1.To list the 6 categories utilized in assessment when using the Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale
  • 2.To list the 2 categories of organization used in the Receptive-Expressive Emergent Language Test.
  • 3.To list at least 3 components in the methods Miller used to create his Mean Length of Utterance by Age norm reference.
