Course Abstract
This course reviews the stages of escalating violence, strategies to prevent/manage violent
situations, strategies to avoid potential problem situations and reviews Chapter 331 and Chapter
104A of the Texas Health and Safety Code.
HHS has approved this course for 1 continuing education [CE] clock hour suitable for addressing
558.259 of the Health and Human Services Code.
These courses consist of slides viewed at the participants pace. Successful completion of the
course requires a passing grade on the exam at the end of the presentation..
Course Learning Objectives
- To recognize the forms that violence can take when in the field.
- To identify strategies to manage or deflect escalating violence in the field.
- To identify the steps to reporting workplace violence in the field.
- To become familiar with Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 33.
